The Westhouse (formerly named ‘A One Degree South Hotel’) is located at the edge of the Karura forest (largest urban forest in Africa) and is an oasis of calm in Nairobi to stay. It’s airy, has rooms with a beautiful view on the garden and forest and is very stylish and stuffed with arty objects. From the bar, where we also had fine diner food, you can watch the monkeys crossing the small river into the garden. The pool wasn’t as inviting but that might be because it was winter season (yes, with 20+ degree Celsius). Very nice place to stay and relax a few days after your safari explorations.
